Some pictures of my Marine Tank

Post by andrewo on Mon Feb 06, 2012 1:18 am

Hi folks; this is whats keeping me very busy (fishwise) last couple of months. Some of you would know I used to run a 3 feet marine; but last July dont know what came over me and I upgraded to a Juwel Rio 400; with a modified 4 feet sump.

Just wanted to get to the stage where some SPS/LPS will thrive; so far it has been a roller coaster ride; but last November I was introduced to the zeovit forum and have since been running full zeovit on this system. Took some time but its getting there as I have seen some montiporas growing back from being totally wiped out from being in my 3 foot tank before.

So its at a stage I dont have to go changing 70-80 % of water to maintain the nitrates and phosphates at a low level. These 2 parameters are a nightmare to deal with! I just do a regular 10% wc weekly.

Still too soon to say of course but hope its getting there; have planted some acroporas to test the water! Touch wood!

Has 3 koralia 4s in there; with one running on timer to go off at night time; lighting is MH 250w x2 & 4 T5s (1 super blue; 2 blues; 1 white. The MH is on 8 hours and T5s 10 hours daily; skimmer is a deltec MCE 600. Also have a standard zeovit reactor there.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers for the nice comments folks;much appreciated! will upload a video next time round.
@Paul go to the website; they have a full write up on eveything there.I think its good for all corals especially SPS; as always the case; some swear by it but others think its just snake oil :D

Very bad time of the year to be selling up but in saying that I have been trying to sell it since few months ago...no takers! yep

Hopefully just like my group of frontosas; just when I want to sell them they breed for me ! laugh

I have been trying to restart the tank altogether now...
