does the juwel marine blue and marine white bulbs make alage grow quicker ive had the bulbs in for about 2 weeks and the alage is growing like mad on the glass i did a water change on saturday and gave the alage a good scrub off the glass and tonite i can see it starting to come threw again would it be the new marnie bulbs or would there be another reason before i changed the bulbs id the standard white bulbs in and if any alage started to grow a good rub with a sponge had it gone and it would of stayed away for months

Algae feeds on nitrates phosphates and lighting. I suspect the stronger lighting just highlighted an existing problem. Check nitrates and phosphates level.

water tests where all spot on ive snice went back to the standard juwel white bulbs the next day after i asked on here and have had no more trouble with the alage after a good clean of the tank

it was bulbs to fit a juwel rio 240 tank , ive given the bulbs to a friend who keeps marine fish
