how long have u had a fish starve itself ?

got a redtail x tiger shovelnose hybrid 2 years ago about 10" quickly grew to 30" then stopped feeding maybe 6 months ago,and only started feeding again a couple of weeks ago and is eating greedily now .has anyone else had similar problems with fish starving themselves ?

I hadca female steveni taiwan reef not eat for about 6-7 weeks because she wouldnt spit her fry in the main tank for fear that all the other haps would eat them. 6 months is mad though. Did the catfishs belly sink in

the hybrids belly went very flat but its ribs were not starting to show,it ,,looked fairly healthy,but they are a very lazy catfish anyway,in daylight hours anyway.

most large predators would only feed a few times a month but gorge themselves.... we have a 24" hybrid in the shop and hes quiet active.. esp. if you approach the tank... he thinks your gonna feed him

My C. Apurensis didn't eat for a couple of months, totally stopped growing. Its back on form now, really doesn't like being moved to different tanks, goes on hunger strike.
