Heard that to jimmy I may have payed high money for wild specimens awhile back. But now its illegal for them to be sold wild, fat chance of me paying that kind of money for a tank bred specimen. Were 100% of the profit is going into the breeders pocket Talk about being in it for the money

I've been thinking about these for a while and can't decide wheither to or not, it's justifing paying that sort of cash for fish I will never see probably. I've took a real liking to some plecos at the minute and might head that direction for a change for a while.

Kelly if you can source a breeding pair than id go for it. but only a breeding pair. Like jimmy said some get pairs and the ynever spawn for some people, get juveniles and you will be waiting for years for them to become mature enough and for reasons above sill may not spawn for you after all that. I had a long think about this awhile back myslf. I personally could only justifie paying that money for a "proven breeding pair". Tank bred and juvenile are not worth the risk id say

Adult proven bred kelly It takes these several years before they start to spawn. And watch out for l098 and l173, very very similar

Are they cheaper might just go for them then
Re: Hypancistrus Zebra L46 "Imperial Zebra Pleco L46"
It depends whos selling them... sometimes they get sold as true L046s but the lines arent defined.... L046 lines are like they were drawn with a ruler and join...L098 is very similar but bit more wavy some lines broken, L173 are more "messy" looking very wavy L098 is rare in the trade than both L046 and L173
They are also very slow growers so 2-3" fish are a lot more expensive than 1" and true breeding groups can be big money!!
