No they are not a shell dweller but are a dwarf cichlid. Max size 2.5 inch. This is the female in the pic above and are much better lookin and more colourful than the male.
Here is a pic of both of them in action. notice the way the male on the left is more dull.

they are just like cribs the female with the pink belly. and the kribs are from africa aswell
