Lionfish in the aquarium

I think these are stunning always wondered about putting your hand in the tank with them, I thought they where poisonous

VERY VERY poisonous Kelly Dont stick your hand in a tank with them. Its the tips of there fins/spines that carry it

Your bound to have to put your hands in at some stage, get someone else to do it then

Were fish as kids on a boat off the coast of Scotland and caught a relative of one of these! the captain was very worried removing it from our hook!

Its mad alright , have no idea how you would do any serious tank maintenance with him there

I've plenty of headers that run in and out of here, I just get them to do it and plead ignorance

Got a black volitan yesterday and paul is calling over to hand feed it for me.
Hand fed it lance fish today as i dont have a twizzers, need quick reactions as though the swim gracefully around a tank, they can be lightening fast when it comes to grabbing a fish.
Also got a 6inch Formosa coris wrasse to add to the new predator tank i am setting up

Paul is doing f all or anything like hand feeding one of them Seriously though fair wacks Ger you have to throw some pice up

This sounds great, what size of tank are putting them into? I love hand feeding fish. Anyone ever hand feed a large Oscar they near take the hand off ya

Gee Chris, that sounds nutts, do you know what it was called incase i catch one sometime down the line lol. Ive been doing a bit of sea fishing myself. I caught a Corkwing wrasse a few times before, a real stunner, almost looks tropical
