This is my second Generation hourdian jaguar cichlid (mick jnr) just shortly after being added into my big tank. He and the la ceiba had abit of a fall out for dominance, la ceiba boss for now, while Mick jnr bides his time for a hostile take over... doublepis

Great pics Paul. Those jags are beasts alright . Don't know a lot about the la ceiba but nice looking fish are they as aggressive as the jags ?

To be honest the la ceiba are a new strain of friedrichsthalii just sorta discovered in the last 15 or so years, from Honduras beside a port town called la ceiba ,as in their name. But this guy I have can really Handel him self , although I did have I'm in with a male Dovii for a while so he has had to defend him self... chainsaw but in the whole he's probably punching above his weight. wink

Cheers Paul . If he can live with a dovii he must be hardy enough. I am just getting used to the aggression from my guys. I added a blue acara recently and he is bullying the bigger Severum and geo satanoperca jurupari.

Some acaras are real jackals at times alright, my guess is in why he's bullying the sev and geo is most likely due to sifting space , geos being earth eater love a sift ,aswell as sevs, So would say he maybe wants all the sand for him self . Would say if you think he's a real pain maybe a substrate change ... wink had a gander at your pics there great choices there mate Dempsey is a class act. thumbs up

Yeah think your right Paul he won't let him down near substrate at all. I will have to change to some pebbles soon.

Yeah love them my self, personality varies from fish to fish, some are just evil incarnate others have the jackal and hyde mentality and have seen some just way laid back. Most likely due to a lot being tank bred now. tongue
