This is one of five of this species I brought back from Mexico several years ago. The fish is about eleven inches in total length. He is also a hardcore glass banger. I have more photos from the same session. I think this is by far the best one. The fish right now can be classified as Carpinte, but at some point it is likely to be renamed as a new species. There are distinct differences in the body with a more elongated body, in particular the caudal peduncle.
