I've had a breeding pair of F0 Amphilophus hogaboomorum for the past seven years. We collected them in the Rio Cholteca in Honduras as juveniles and brought them back. I originally had a dozen. When I got the breeding pair I gave some of the extras to friends here locally.

One of my friends recently had to get rid of his tanks and asked if I would like the fish back. It was a female. I had a large "spare" male that was residing in a tank with the breeding pair...and figured, what the heck. I had serious doubts if the fish would pair up. I haven't had much luck with choosing a mate for the fish. Generally I get a group and let them do the choosing. So I put them in a large divided tank and gave her access to the males side. It was a ROUGH courtship, but successful. Now I have two breeding pair and not enough tanks for the fry. LOL
